Heeeeey... Does anyone know how to design these here journal thingies?

********** Quick Note **********

On Friday the 18th, I had a very unexpected surgery that I had about twenty-four hours to prepare for. Unfortunately, this surgery unmasked some very nasty problems that I wasn't aware I had and/or wasn't aware they were quite so bad.

The short of it is that a very large tumor has been discovered lurking in my uterus. We knew there was a tumor, however he hadn't expected that size nor the other problems discovered at the same time. It turns out that this tumor will require massive surgery and treatment for a wide variety of issues. Due to the severity of the situation, I will be leaving to visit family in May that are in the US before I am unable to travel and returning in early June to have the surgery.

While this situation doesn't affect the little contest here on DA -- the recent surgery has made me fall quite a bit behind in my various "thank you" and whatnot. Heaven's knows I shouldn't have to beg forgiveness for not rushing to respond to every message and such, but ah well...

I also wanted to let my friends who avoid myspace like the plague know what's going on. I can't even keep straight which friends I have emailed or contacted in some way. I've updated lists I am on about my impending lack of posts and I just can't keep straight who else is also where.

For the friends who live local to Alabama where my family is, please contact me if you want to get together with me. There are several people that I have been friends with for a long time that live close enough to meet up and this may be my only shot for a very long time.

Thanks for understanding what's keeping me so backed up and I still look forward to a lot of entries in the "Where's Spring?!" contest. It's definitely a positive thing to focus on right now, and that's exactly what I need.
